Hexic HD is one of my favourite puzzle games. Written by Alexey Pajitnov, the creator of Tetris. I love its unrushed pace, its longer objective-based gameplay, and the fact that it's a game you can actually finish.
But unlike Tetris, Hexic isn't available on practically every platform, in fact it was only released on Windows PC (2003), Xbox 360 (2005), and Windows Mobile (2009).
I wanted a version I could play anywhere, and to fix some of the minor annoyances with the original game.
So, I made HEX6.
The original starts with 5 different colours, and ends with 7. HEX6 doesn't go higher than 6.
However, you restrict it to only 5 if you want, and also disable bombs in the pause menu, if you want an easier or more relaxing, game.
You can also swap the O/X buttons in the PICO8 pause menu, in case your controller's button layout doesn't fit the game.
